Places of interest Castelo de Vide
Castelo de Vide has a 14th century castle in which you can still feel the past. Furthermore, there is a beautiful Jewish neighbourhood with the oldest synagogue of Portugal and many special, often gothic door portals. In the Jewish neighbourhood there is also the roofed Fonte de Villa, a marble Renaissance fountain from the 16th century. For the lovers of old churches and chapels: you can find no less than 32 of them in Castelo de Vide!
Further downhill is the 'newer' part of Castelo de Vide, from the 17th-18th century. Praça Dom Pedro V is an elegant square surrounded by baroque buildings, churches, and the town hall. Besides all these places of interest you can just stroll around in Castelo de Vide, through the many cobbled alleys and streets.
